Hello,

Here is my problem.  The DNN installation on GoDaddy never completed properly when it was done...2 years ago!  So we saved a copy of the folder where DNN was installed and backed up the DB (SQL 2005).  We installed 4.8.4, restored the files and the DB.  Also, made sure the connection string info and username and password were listed correctly in the web.config file.

First we kept getting a DotNetNuke Splash Page that it was upgrading. It was noticed that the DB was 4.09 and the DNN install was 4.8.4.  We put the 4.9.5 DNN files in and added the connection string info to the web.config file.  Then when loading www.site.org/site it goes to the site, it does not run the upgrade like it says it will (per the readme doc in the download).  At this point, it sees the DB and loads the pages that are visible to the public.  When clicking on Login I enter my Username and Password but it will not log me in.

Does anyone have any ideas?  GoDaddy told me the steps to follow to fix the botched installation...and now they want $150 to restore from back-up!

Thanks!!
  Rickey

make sure to use machine key from your previously used web.config file, this may have been modified by the installer.
