Anyway, The Idea here is that would it be possible to implement AJAX -enabled page re-ordering as it is usually a long round-trip to server to get the new list of pages that could be also handled with AJAX Async call in background.

This happens even with sites with less pages (10-20) and larger are naturally even worse to admin.

I looked at this functionality a while back, because I had the same concerns.

I am not sure AJAX will necessarilly fix that problem-- because the bulk of the time in the transaction is reordering the page sort order and then updating each page.  This just happens to be a very expensive transaction.  I think that ultimately the solution will be how the dataset is passed back to the DB for the update...

How about not doing async request between page reorders but a simple "Update" -button so that user could work with re-ordering on client side and once done, update would do in a single request.

Could this kind of thing work in DualList as well ?
