I am working with the HTML Template:

I am trying to call a jQuery function from a link.

The syntax looks like this: <a href=" void();" onclick="toggle_div('[Changed at]')">Show/Hide</a>
I tried the asci characters here which worked but when you go back and edit they show as single quotes again

I also call a function has a token within quotes: toggle("[Changed at]")
With the double quotes the Token is replaced with the word Changed at rather than the value surrounded by quotes.
The asci code acted the same.

Is there a way to add the single and double quotes as literals?

in javascript to ensure they are used as literals put a [back]slash in front of them

\'
\"

That should do it

My problem isn't with Javascript.  It is with the HTML Template and the HTML I need rendered.

When the I have quotes around a token the token title is rendered rather than the token value.

I have tried the \' and \" but they had no effect.

Ahhh, Sorry - Teach me to try and post when I know pizza is coming. :)

OK - I think I see what you're trying to say

Let me paraphrase my understanding
Your first example doesn't work, Your second example does - The only 'real' difference is single vs double quotes.

If that's the case, I'd try using \"
 <a href=" void();" onclick="toggle_div(\"[Changed at]\");">Show/Hide</a>
That should use them as double quotes and not 'exit' the onclick value.
Might also try setting the href to "#" unless void does something. Not sure if a function there would interfere with the onclick

I actually dont have a solution.  The backslash before the quotes either singl or double doesn't work.
