Hi All,

I just installed the latest version of events on one of our sites.  It has some really nice enhancements over the v3 version we were using before.  Thanks!

Our customer that uses this module had a few suggestions that I would like to put forth for consideration.

  1. Ability to turn off the confirmation loop alert box when clicking on the enroll link.
  2. Ability to show the price of the event in the details view.   On this item, I have looked at the code and seen that some of the properties ot the event as well as some of the labels for those properties are exposed to the events template engine.  I would suggest exposing all properties and labels to the template engine as this would solve any future issues.
  3. Ability to change the target property for the URL of locations.
  4. Ability to add a rich text comment after the list view to give furhter instruction on enrolling.

I would be willing to put some time into programming some of these features myself.  Please let me know what you think.

Best Regards,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Som interesting ideas here:-

  1. Not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean the box saying, do you really want to.... ?
  2. This should be easy to add.
  3. I have exposed two new tokens 'locationurl' and 'locationname' which will allow you to create urls in whatever format you need. Note that this won't currently allow flexibility in the list views. We are hoping to re-work list views soon to add more templating - however you could create a location link in the description box in any format you require.
  4. Do you mean below the list view? Could you just add an HTML box below.?

Cheers
Roger

Roger,

Thanks for your quick reply.

  1. Yes - ability to turn off the "Do you really want to"? question.  I would like to see a checkbox in the settings to turn this off.
  2. Great!
  3. I was hoping to allow for target="_blank" in the list
  4. Yes.  HTML below the list.  We are using the footer field of the container right now to add some text.  I can add URLs to it but it is not easy for our customer to do it.  This is obviously low priority.  We could use an HTML box also but then it is not in the same container.

Any ETA on any of this?  Are you interested in some help with the updates?

Hi Scott,

  1. I can add this easily and will do so for the 5.0.4 code base
  2. This is done and will be in 5.0.4 - see here - http://dnnevents.codeplex.com/WorkIte...
  3. To be honest I don't want to add this directly, since we will be re-working the list view, though I can't promise when that will be done. With some imaginative templating you could remove the location column from the list and give the impression of it still being in a list column using the description field.
  4. I agree low priority. Feel free to add to CodePlex....

If you are interested in helping, feel free to contact Ernst Peter. His email is ernstpeter.tamminga AT dotnetnuke.com. We are always looking for support.

Cheers
Roger
