the developer.config is used by the coreteam during testing. It has an objectQualifier set (as you've discovered), which allows us to make sure that all scripts have been tested and work with it, and it also has the trust level set to medium, so we can ensure that DNN runs in a partial trust environment. It's also a good idea for module developers to use it for the same reasons.

Cathal,

So by setting the ObjectQualifier to something like "mysite", the database tables will be created with that prefix?

If I already have DNN installed, can I manually add a prefix to the created tables and update the ObjectQualifier?   Would that work?

Thanks

You should not set the objectQualifier after install. If you do, all hits to the database will find nothing, which actually may cause it to reinstall the db.

If you wanted to add the prefix to the tables, you have lots of work ahead of you because you have to alter each sproc name as well as the tablenames within the sprocs.

Outch.  But if I do a clean install and set the ObjectQualifier with a prefix, then all database table will be created with that prefix and all reference to the tables will use the prefix as well?

Thanks again for the help.
