Hi, I'm looking to use a tool to beautify my existing web site - up to now only being using native DNN editor.  What  tool would be best for great looking pages etc?

please be aware that the design of a DotNetNuke web site consists of three different layers: 1. Skin and containers control page layout and decoration as well as module "frame" and style 2. modules are responsible for displaying their content 3. users, who enter content, may use built in features of the richtext editor to format their content. For best results, you need to make sure, all layers are properly covered by your solution.

 Hi Sebastian,

Many thanks for the info. I would really appreciate any guidance that you can give as to actual tools to use at the layer 1 - skin and containers.  What are the most popular / rated page authoring tools for this layer? Is it popular practice to (for example) use MS Expression Web or Web Developer?  Or any other tools that you can point to?

Skins and containers are created as HTML (or ASCX) pages with CSS and images. you may use any web design tool to create the basic design and need to insert object tags for DNN skin objects. AFAIK there are great tutorials at www.dnncreative.com, besides there is a book on DNN Skinning and the free skinning guide (see support > documentation > downloads in menu above) as well as updates at dnnskins.codeplex.com.
