Well, Then I'm lost.

  • I completely removed the skin from the site/host/portal.
  • I installed a new copy with my changes.
  • Selected the layout for the portal.
  • Went to the homepage and selected the flash layout.
  • Homepage is still showing the old version although I've uninstalled.
  • Went back to the hompage and selected site default
  • Went back to the portal skin and selected the same flash layout for the entire portal
  • Now the entire site will show the correct flash, even the homepage.

There is also a change to the skin CSS which shows it's not just a flash problem. the flash is just more noticable. The skin is Aero by bind. the flash is not actually changed, just the XML file and images which are dynamically loaded by the flash.

DNN normally  does not make copies of your skin.

But I know there is an issue in older DNN 5 versions were you can install a skin first from Host > Extensions and then also from Admin > Extensions, using the same package name.
That should not be possible, but it is.

Could you check if the skin is installed in the Portals/_default/skins folder and also in the Portals/"portalid"/Skins folder?
