I am using the file system with VWD to run dotnetnuke 4 as I don't have IIS on my machine.
Everytime I want to work with DNN and change some settings etc do I have to do a control F5  and start a build? Can I not just open a page and right click and 'view in browser'. (This doesn't appear to work)

thanks.

No, you can't use the view in browser approach. This is due to how the framework includes controls and how all the pages are rendered. Basically, all the features that make DNN so flexible are taking this IDE feature away from you. Sorry
