 Thanks to everyone who replied. I have solved this problem now. I used Michael Washington's instructions for installing DNN on Windows 7 at http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNu... , specifically the part on directory permissions and IIS application pool settings using the Network Service user. It's still a bit strange to me that things were working fine before upgrading.This is apparently not correct as far as the preferred way Windows 7 / Server 2008R2 handles things, but it worked for me.
