I tried to locate this error occurance by search and returned no results.

This happens when I update the configuration for the module (whether I actually change or don't change settings is irrevelent).

An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Multiple controls with the same ID 'Settings' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Multiple controls with the same ID 'Settings' were found. As I recall that was a rather random error which affected a number of modules and core controls particularly when using certain combinations of caching and AJAX. It is the first time, however, that I have seen it happen with the gallery module.

I would first try restarting your site by making an insignificant change to the site's web.config file - add a space a the very end, etc., re-save the web.config file (or re-upload to the site if on shared hosting) then try revisiting the site and updating gallery settings. I suspect that following the restart all will be well. However, the issue may occur again.

Please advise what version of DotNetNuke you are running and confirm that your Gallery module is the latest release, 4.03.00.

Hello, sorry it took so long to get back to you.

I tried as you suggested, this is a hosted website so I edited the .config file but had no success. This isn't the only site that this module is having problems on either. Specifically I have to sepperate websites (one hosted and one on a personal server).

DNN Info:

DotNetNuke Community Edition
05.02.03 (74)

SqlDataProvider
3.5

Gallery Info:

DNN_Gallery
Gallery
The Media Gallery Module stores and displays a collection of items organized in albums. Revision = 124

4.3.0

Thanks for your help.

Hi Lee,

there could be some issues on upgrade.  Please go to page where the Gallery module is added. Open Gallery Settings, and check the path where the files are stored.  On upgrade from a 3.x version the is some changes in the control so the backslash infront of the paths beginning is not needed, about it is added into the control.  Looks like this:

WRONG !

Gallery Path:  C.\Folder\portal\o\\Gallery\123

Right !

Gallery Path:  C.\Folder\portal\o\Gallery\123

A other issue can be a time out if you have a large Gallery.   Also On the filenames no Symbols or double file names are allowed.

Hope this helps you.

This is a fresh install from the above version (no upgrades). The only path option I have is under Configuration and it is "Gallery/876/" This has to be right because the pictures are showing up fine.

All of the image names are alpha numeric only, they (for demonistration purposes) are only the sample pictures shipped with Windows 7. There are only two photo albums with four pictures each (8 pictures total).

Thanks
