Also I suggest to make a big difference between user UI and Admin UI. What I mean here is Admin/Edit mode ui can load all those js & css files, but when it show by users all those unnecessary css and js are gone.

Yes, this is for me the biggest argument against DNN and really needs priority. I was told very frankly by my hosting provider that if I insisted on using DNN then I would just have to accept its notoriously bad performance. I have spent I guess 25% of my time trying to tune DNN for better perf and I would have preferred to have spent that time on developing content for my site. My perf wish list : 1. A DNN release that addresses perf issues specifically. 2. A DNN release variant that has configured out the most perf impacting features and offers best possible perf out of the box. 3. Ensuring that very simple website pages do not include perf impactive resources that are needed for Admin UI e.g. do not use Ajax, or use of MS Ajax CDN.

i too would love a performance focus release, I build my sites and spend have of that tuning them and making sure they work fast. I must say 5.41 seems to be a bit faster but the amount of .JS files it calls needs looking into.

While I'm sure development proceeds to lighten the load, has anyone tried to minifiy dnn.js and dnncore.js?  I'd love to swap them out for now.

The performance of DNN is the only reason that leads me to look for another CMS. I also hope that something will be done to solve this big problem. When I think people does not wait more than six or seven seconds before they closed a web page and that my web sites take longer than 10 seconds to display, I am desperate.
