Hey ,

I am new to DNN. Could some one help me with a simple problem that I am facing. I want to remove the Main Menu from the Login Page and only show those menu after use login. I see other module have restriction setting where as Menu Module (I hope ) can't even been seen on the Module Definitions. Tried finding it and Installing it , but couldn't even find it. Is Menu a Module? Anyway Please help me with just removing it from the Login Page..

Thanks,

DIP

There are a number of ways you could try to go about this.

One way would be to create a new SKIN that you specifically use for the Login page, though this will take a bit more knowledge than I believe you may currently have within DNN.

Another way would be to make all of the existing pages on your website only visible to people who are logged in, this would require anyone coming to the website to login, and wouldn't show any pages in the menu until they are logged in. I'm not sure if that is the effect you are going for or not. To do this you need to edit the SETTINGS for each of your pages, and make it so the pages are only visible to the Registered Users role in the permissions grid.

Thanks for the fast reply..I already tried the second option you suggested . Only one problem..

eg  Home,Product, etc Pages : give access to registered user

Login Page                          : give access to unregistered user

One problem is that I still get  atleast one Menu Tab as "Login" for Login Page right? Which I need to get ride off.

( I hope you can understand what I am trying to say)

So is skining only way to go?

You can make the login page not show up in the menu by unchecking the option on the page settings for display in menu.

Skinning is generally the only way to go because the Navigation menu is part of the skin, not actually a module on the page.
