Hello,

I'm interested in hearing what others have done to allow multi-portal login by one user.

I have 3-tiered approach to my DNN solution:
GrandParent, Parent, Child

I'd like the user to be able to register on the GrandParent initially.
The Admin of a Parent should then be able to add a registered user from GrandParent to their Parent portal
The Admin of the Parent should also be able to add a registered user from GrandParent to specific Child-portals under the Parent

So a particular user could login to:
www.grandparent.com
www.grandparent.com/parent
www.grandparent.com/parent/child

A registered user on the GrandParent should only be able to login to ONE specific Parent and THAT Parent's specified Child portals, ie: only those to which they have been assigned by a Parent Admin.

Also, no user should be able to register at the Child level
A user can register at the GrandParent AND/OR Parent level
A user registering at the Parent level should always be able to login on the GrandParent
A user can only have login permission to any ONE Parent
A user can login to multiple specied Child portals under their assigned Parent portal

Any advice on this using groups/roles/permissions etc would be helpful.
Also open to third-party solutions.

THANKS

This is not really a scenario that I know of that is supported by DNN out of the box, you can accomplish it though via third party solutions, manipulating the records in the UserPortals table, but even from a third party solution you are introducing a level that is a bit more complex than I have typically seen.

You might look at the products available from DataSprings, I know that their Dynamic Login and other modules can help with the multi-portal situation and getting users to have access to multiple portals.

Thanks Mitch, I will look into the DataSpring modules/solutions.

I might end up needing to write a module for the various portal admins myself.
Really don't want to be amending any core code to accomplish any of this.

I'll see if anyone else posts something here but if YOU don't know of a solution off-hand, I doubt anyone does.

Thanks  again
