I recently upgraded to 5.2.3 from 5.0.1 and lost my custom settings for fck editor.

I found that the only way for me to get this back on my test system was to copy my old custom .js file in from before my upgrade.

Since I had noticed that this customization (most of it anyway) is now provided via the web GUI, and wanting to conform to any new methods that are used for this I started playing around with it.  The first thing I noticed is that the customization I had introduced via my .js file was not reflected here.  As soon as I applied any change in the new GUI, I lost my old customizations again.

The ONLY way I've found to get them back is to completely clear settings applied by the GUI.

I need to understand how this is working to eliminate having to fart around during subsequent upgrades.

My question at this point:  Where are custom settings applied at the web GUI for fck editor v 2.0.4 being stored?

custom settings are stored in Host Settings (Portal Level), ModuleSettings and TabModuleSettings, easy to identify by settingskey "###FCK###" or sth like this.

I am trying to figure out how to customize the fck editor in the HTML module. I see above that the customization is available through the Web GUI, but I'm not sure what this means. How do I do it? I've tried logging in as Host and checked Host Settings, but I see nothing there that leads me to a way to customize. I've also been reading the fck editor developer guide at: http://docs.cksource.com/FCKeditor_2.x/Developers_Guide/Configuration and it discusses how to configure and customize the editor, but if there's a DNN GUI way to do this, that seems to make sense. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind, I found it.

In the HTML module, click on Edit Content, then click on Show Customer Editor Options.  I was able to make the customizations I wanted there.

Thanks anyway.
