 Hello,

I've got my site down after a (successfull!) upgrade to 05.03.01, from 5.2.3. The upgrade was successfull, no errors and no warnings at all, but then accessing the site gives the error:

 An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.GetSkin(PageBase Page) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\albe.ihnet.it.dnn\Default.aspx.vb:line 487 at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.OnInit(EventArgs e) at DotNetNuke.Framework.PageBase.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

What to do? The skin is there, what to look at?

UPDATE: it actually was a problem with the skin, a skinobject (Syntax Hilighter, http://dnnsyntaxhighlighter.codeplex....) no longer working after upgrade.

I am having the same issue, did the syntax highlighter fix the problem?  How did you install it?

Jeff, my problem was caused by the syntax highlighter skinobject, which I had in my skin: removing it fixed the problem. I then didn't try to re-install it, so don't know if it is possible to use it with the new version of DNN .

Bye,

al.

After upgrading to 5.3.0, I am getting the runtime error.  I turned on the custom errors and it seems the underlying error is Server 500 error.  After reading this forum for few days, I decided to give the 5.3.1 a try.  I am still having the same issue.  The only other place I can look for more details is the EventLog and it's loaded with General_Exception errors.  At the moment the site is down and I have no access to any of the admin pages.
