OK, new results and now totally clueless!

I made a fresh clean emtpy 5.4.1 installation on my testing machine, added German as second language and made it to default language.

Everything is working fine, what does not really surprise

I compared the tables languages and portallanguages from this test-installation with my productive site and of course they are totally equal.

The only difference is that my prod enviroment was a 5.0 clean installation, filled with the content and then some updates instead of a 5.4.1 fresh installation.

But it is NOT working on my prod site. When clicking on the username the actual page will only be refreshed.

The URL behind the username is also the same in both worlds: javascrip:_doPostback('dnn$dnnUSER$cmdRegister','')

So, what the hell could this be???

Thanks in advance.

Cheers from the rainy Germany

Kai

Got it! I finally got it!

OK, it might be that in some other posts or even at support.dotnetnuke.... the answer allready is, but then it was described to complicated for me. At least.

However, here is how it worked for me.

I had 5.3.1 with German as default language. Before the update i switched to English (US). Then the update (after a fullbackup of course, just in case....), went into the Site settings, set the Profile-Page-Setting accordingly to the correct page and switched back to German as default. A shourt Application Restart and voila....it is working.

I don't know why, but who cares? My users don't....

Cheers

Kai

If you click on a username and you do not see the new UserProfile module or you get a message saying "This module is only intended for use on a page which is defined as the profile page for the portal." then you need to enable "Enable Language Parameter in URLs? " under Language Settings AND then go to Site Settings and ensure that, for each locale enabled, you make sure the right site settings are enabled (e.g. default profile page). Site Settings is now specific for each locale - although the UI makes it really hard to work out what locale you setting other than if you refer to the language parameter in the URL. This means that you can specify different logo's site names, default skins etc for every locale. Cheers Ian
