Hello

I just installed DotNetNuke on a VPS with 512MB RAM using Microsoft Web Plattofrm Installer. Not really much, but it should be enough.

Then I tried to install the Forum Module (Forum_04.05.03_Install.zip). It is then trying to install it and after 20-30 seconds, I get an error message.

A critical error has occurred.
Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Dropbox\My Server\Ruttensoft.com\Install\Temp\biky3ydl\Forum.dnn'.

Whats wrong?

What version of DNN are you trying to install the Forum module on? I wonder if it's a memory issue? 512mb sure isn't much these days, especially for newer operating systems.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I'm installing it on a DNN 5.2.3 CE. Server is Windows 2003 Server as VPS.

I will upgrade to 1GB RAM and see if that helps.

I tried to install the Forum right after the DNN 5.2.3 installation (in the setup wizard) and also manually selecting the ZIP file. Both failed.

Thanks

Sven

About the installing of module, you have to know, extract files only did not work.  I assume to uninstall the faild module and check manuelly the database for any artifacts as table, spocs, views and delete dem if they still exist after uninstall the module, or uninstalling fails.

Then check the timeout for your IIS Server, with low memory you need a higher setting as the standard, about on install the Forum Module there running large script to install all database artifacts for the Forum.

Also before new install make sure you have set up all phsycal folders with the right permissions!
