Could you give an example of how to display the date as: February 2009.

I am using xsl to display the output.

Thanks

  1.  XSL handles date-time values as strings, it doesn't know how to deal with dates
  2. You can pass the string to a template which examines the string and returns what you want
  3. You can use libraries like http://exslt.org/date/functions/forma.... The XSLT template from Jenni Tennision can help you further.

I was wondering if their was a way to have a calculated field that would convert the date to text.

No, it won't work with a calculated column (which is a pity).

Too bad.  At this point I will just use a text field.

I think xsl styling for a date is just too much engineering for a small gain.

Thanks to you guys for being so responsive.

It is really helpful.
