I am migrating users from another CMS to DotNetNuke. I was planning to use SSIS . The only problem is, I need to store other user information like ethnicity, address, and job specific attributes and the table in DotNetNuke that stores user info does not have those attributes. I believe I heard something about custom fields and I cannot find any information about them in the ebooks I have. What would be the best way to store this information and is there some kind of API I can you to access these custom fields.

To define the custom fields in the DNN Go to the Admin->userAccounts and then manage profile properties and on this page there is a link for "Add New Property"

Where u can define New property.

Ok, great, so I can add these custom properties  but then I would like to programatically (w/SSIS) add users to the system and insert the user data into the custom profile properties that I just created in the Admin-User Accounts->Manage Profile Properties. What functions OR what would be the best way to do this?

OK, This is starting to make more sense to me. In the class DotNetNuke.Entities.Profile.ProfileController, there are several methods I believe I could use to insert new users programmatically. I believe they are:

UpdatePropertyDefinition

GetPropertyDefinition

GetUserProfile

UpdateUserProfile

Now I just have to figure out how to use these methods. Can anybody help me with this?
