Last week, I made a logo for a website in silverlight 1. Not much, just a few small animations, a spinning world globe and a few "lightnings" and I would like to apply that on a website.

I've been reading all day through blogs on the implementation of Silverlight within the dnn environment. I think I would have little problem implementing the animation in a module, but I don't see how to modify a skin, and as far as I see, that is the only way to replace the logo by a silverlight animation.

The <body> tag in the default.html file produced by expression blend 2 provides the code needed to call page.xaml from within a html file. How do I now modify the ascx file to run the silverlight module? And where do I offload the tags in the header section of default.html?

I guess all support files will have in the skin's folder?

Even Michael Washington said he could not advise me with what I wanted to achieve, so I had to look for some way out. What I had expected to be a quick implementation turned out to be one week's work. I guess I've learned a lot from it.

I've got the silverlight animation working as site logo. I had to work around the problem, with the limited knowledge I have. So what I did is this:

I've created the animation as a dnn module. With the information from Michael's site, this was indeed not too difficult, though I do not yet fully understand everything I have been doing to achieve this.

Then, I've turned the logo pane into a regular pane in the skin for that web site. Now, when I create a new page for the site, it comes without logo. The creator of the new page then must manually put the logo module in the logo pane and change its container to blank.

Does anybody have suggestions on how to improve on this procedure?

You may want to look at the option to have a module appear on every page.  This will ensure that the Logo Module will appear as desired.

You will find the setting under Module Settings > Advanced Settings > Display Module on all Pages

Hope this helps
Paul.
