In my Events module, I added a description.  Of course it looks fine when you view it on the website, but if the USER wants to download the details to the Outlook Calendar, the details dont look to great and you lose your formatting of my additonal description.  Is there another solution where the additional items of the description cannot be part of the main description but can be view separately on the events detail page?  i.e. adding another html/text module as part of another description seperate of the Description setting?  I hope that made sense.

You can take a look of my URL at http://www.gvnw.com/Events/GVNWEvents...

What I like to acheive is the Agenda, Location details, Hotel Information and Fees not be included in the Description section of the download, but still part of the Events Detail page for viewing.

Thoughts?

Hi Chuck,

There isn't currently a way of doing what you want. However this may be down to deciding how you wan to include in the description in terms of styling elements, rather than just relying on the inbuilt css of your web site.

Alternatively, it may be we need to add an option to have an 'exportable' summary rather than using the main description. Have a think on it, and post your ideas on CodePlex if you come up with a concrete proposal.

Cheers
Roger

I'm just investigating the option of including an HTML formated description in the export. I'll continue to explore....

Thanks Roger for the reply and not a bad idea to add HTML export option either.

I just notice that you can set a Custom Detail Page for an event.  I guess in the meantime this could be a workaround for me.  The user can click on the Title link for the Custom Detail Page or click on the magnifying glass image for the brief Summary of it.

My question is on the magnfying glass icon, is there a way to swap out the image and insert a 'text' value as a hyperlink e.g. Brief Summary or maybe add the text next to the magnifying glass icon.

Another idea to that is there a way next to the Title of the event which leads to the Custom Detail page add a 'text' (- More Details)  e.g. Title Of Event - More Details

BTW, I am using List View for my events.

Thanks,
Chuck
