Hi,

I have a need for a large number of roles that I have added directly to the table in sql.

Everything working fine but a little sluggish.

Is there anything I can do to improve this? Index the table or something?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your poost Mitch,

Well, this is a shopping site & its based on regions so i dont want users in city a seeing things for sale in city b.

So the only way I thought i could get around this was create roles, all 11,000 of them!!!

Its probably more sluggish in the setup area as I set the site up.

Regards

Todd

Fresh Install of DNN 5.6.1, ASP.NET 4.0, SQLExpress 2008, Windows 2003 Server, 8 Core Xeon CPU 3.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, RAID 250GB Hard Drives, Dedicated Server at PowerDNN

I've got a similar problem, not 11,000 Roles but only about 250 Roles and anytime I go to Edit a Pages Permissions or a Modules Permissions the load time on that screen is killing me. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or help a little.

What if any are the advantages or disadvanteges of using Groups? Is there a way to move Users from Roles to Groups easily?
