I have been struggling with this one thing on many different modules.  I have a need for some of the email functionality to send to a group of users.  IE assume i was using feedback module to get comments from my users, and send them to a group of users who have the security role Admin.  Assume I have 20 of those administrators.  How would I setup the feedback module to send to all 20 users.  There are other modules that allow for email too, this is just one example.

Very few modules, if any, would include this sort of email functionality within them. At best, notifications such as comments, articles published waiting approval etc.

You could look at a commercial module such as Axon from Onyaktech or InteractiveWebs Bulk Emailer.

Another option is to use a tool such as OpenWebStudio which can certainly do this and an example configuration is available too which should help with getting started. A bit of a hurdle to get over with learning but well worth it for anyone wanting flexibility and control with DNN.

Hope it helps point you towards a solution!

I am currently working on a new version of the core Feedback module and hope to have a beta version up on CodePlex by late next week. The new module then have to pass through the DotNetNuke module release testing process before being available for use on a production site. How long that will take, I cannot predict.

In addition to enhancements relating to additional fields for contact information, selection of multiple categories for moderation or guest book display, and templated guest book display, the two  enhancements which I implemented last night were 1) allowing multiple, semi-colon separated e-mail addresses to be placed in the settings SendTo field and 2) inclusion of the standard DNN role/user selection grid on the settings page to enable feedback emails to be sent to the users in one or more roles.

That sounds like exactly what I need.  I do have the axom module, but it seems to me that it is mostly used for outbound mail.  Like newsletters and other types of batch email.  I like the way the newsletter module has those role selection, but wondered why more modules didn't take advantage of the roles as a recipient.  I greatly need this ability with the feedback module, and look forward to seeing it.  If there is a need for another beta tester.  Consider me a volunteer.
