I have searched both by using search and by browsing Roadmap, Version Tracking and everything else I could find but I have not been able to find what features are in 5.4. I am considering upgrading to 5.3 but then noticed 5.4 is coming out so I would like to weigh my options. Is there any way to see a list of new features in 5.4?

The Roadmap in Gemini support probably gives the most up to date listing of bug fixes and enhancements scheduled for 5.4 (and a bit beyond). The Blog also included a few posts about new features expected to be included in 5.4.

You'll notice that there are many bug fixes and the following major enhancements:

  • Backport of Telerik RadEditor provider from DotNetNuke Pro Edition to Community Edition
  • Backport of Ribbon Bar control panel from DotNetNuke Pro Edition to Community Edition
  • Continuing incremental enhancements to portal and content localization
  • Folksonomy (user created tags) and refinements to Taxonomy API and UI introducted in 5.3.1
  • Support for ASP.Net 4.0 including automatic .Net version detection and web.config changes when switching from .Net 3.5 to 4.0
