I migrated from 4.9.0 through to 5.3.1.  The site is www.indianlakepa.us  I get a compilation error:

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'Web.HttpResponse' is not defined.

Source Error:

Line 32: Implements System.Web.IHttpHandler
Line 33:
Line 34: Private Sub RenderToResponseStream(ByVal Response As Web.HttpResponse, ByVal controller As XmlController)
Line 35: ' save script timeout
Line 36: Dim scriptTimeOut As Integer = HttpContext.Current.Server.ScriptTimeout

Source File: d:\hosting\ilborough\dotnetnuke\App_Code\XML\Handlers\download.vb    Line: 34

When you upgrade through GoDaddy they tell you they make backups and you can roll back.  What they don't tell you is that it costs $150 to restore from tape and can take 7 days.  I may have to pay it, but am trying to get the site patched to the point I can move it to another host.  I was very dumb to believe that their backups had me covered...  I feel very stupid...

Remove all the files from the site's App_Code\XML folder. That should allow the site to come back up without the error. If your site is using the core XML module, you will then need to re-install the latest version of the XML module which is included in the 5.3.1 upgrade package. After logging in as Host, navigate to the Host-->Extensions page, scroll all the way to the bottom, click on "Install Available Modules", select the XML module, click on "Install Selected Modules". If for some reason, XML module version 04.03.05 is not listed as an available module, you can download the zip install package at:

http://dnnxml.codeplex.com/releases/v...

Also note, if you have the Chat module installed, you will receive a similar error.

A lot of success, but ultimately, once all the installs reportedly concluded with success, going to the site yields a big red X, two lines which state simply "An Error has occurred", and a box with one option; "return to site"...  At leat it's a DotNet Nuke error...

Thanks so much.

Site is back operational, but back at 4.8.4.

I'm backing EVERYTHING up in a snapshot and moving it to another host to try again.

Thanks to all that helped and looked.  It appears I'm not alone...  There is something unholy going on with updating to 5.3.1, particularly with GoDaddy, skins and the HTML/Text module...  This is my first debacle in 2+ years...
