Hi

I am installing a new intranet using  DNN professional (Latest release) on Windows server 2003 SP2 IIs6 ASP.Net v2 MS SQL 2005. The installation went well without issue using a typical install. The port is 8007 on my internal networked  server. ie there is no external access only authorised users from a secure domain.

I have the error 404 resource cannot be found /login.aspx. I enter the full login url from a web based community edition (replacing the domain name of course) and I can login as host or admin. However the same error message is returned for various other files too numerous to mention here.

I have been reading a thread (click here) that resolves a similar problem by moving their port back to 80.

I am not able to do this for various reasons.

My questions are:

a) am I correct in thinking that my problem and the related thread are port allocation problems?

b) if do how do I resolve the problem but staying with port 8007 or anything actually other than 80.

c) if I am barking up the wrong tree what else can I do?

I have done nothing other than a clean install from the 'typical' option. Nothing else has been installed or activated within DNN.

Further to my post I have deduced that it is indeed Friendly URLs which needs turning off in the installation to rectify this issue.

However If anyone has a solution to allow for ports other than 80 and still have the Friendly URL option active  I would be very grateful.
