I would like to find out who else in the DNN community is using Webhost4life. I've been with webhost4life for about 2.5 years with minimal issues. I have had the occasional frustration with speed or a standard answer to a very specific and detailed question, but I'm pretty forgiving. For the most part they've taken care of issues quite quickly. With that said, one of my clients wanted to add a storefront using Authorize.net and a merchant. I purchased a SSL certificate from webhost4life, and went through the configuration process with the gateway and merchant. I then went to configure the SSL and found out webhost4life was in the middle of a platform upgrade, and SSL certificates were not really available. That was in early February. I was assured they were working the issue. It's now late April with many support tickets later, and still no SSL until customers are migrated to the new platform. Furthermore, DNN customers are not able to migrate due to issues with the new platform. I have requested dates multiple times of when they would have DNN ready to migrate and the SSL certificates ready for use. Webhost4life keeps assuring me they are working the issues, but will not give me projected dates of completion. Am I being unreasonable to think this is not acceptable?

I assume all dotenetnuke folks are in trouble at webhost4life right now. Anyone?

I've been with webhost4life for just over a year and it's been rock solid, BUT, I recently signed up two clients and one of the accounts has been borderline nightmarish from the moment the account was created. It has been getting better but still not satisfied. They have left my account on the "old" platform and that's fine with me. I really hope they get their stuff together soon or I may go elsewhere too.

Good luck, I hope they get it together for you.

It's not just DNN.  WH4L has been getting beat up by everyone for issues with their transition and nobody seems satisfied yet.  The bottom line is their project didn't work out as planned and has taken far longer to straighten out that anyone anticipated.  They're losing customers and they know it, but they still haven't been able to solve all the problems clients are having.  Best adivice is, if you can't put up with the wait, switch hosts.  There are plenty out there.

WebHost4Life were sold to Endurance International Group, a company that buys up hosting companies. Read more here: http://donnedwards.openaccess.co.za/2010/04/about-endurance-international-group.html It includes a list of hosting companies to avoid. My site was effectively down for 12 days - see http://donnedwards.openaccess.co.za/2010/03/webhost4life-breaks-fishwisepro-web.html I have joined a community of other WH4L customers at http://webhost4lifecustomers.ning.com/ If you are stuck between the "old" WH4L servers and the "new platform", get hold of Gary Engel Sr. Vice President, Sales and Customer Support WebHost4Life 781-852-3200 ext 3302 gary@webhost4life-inc.com and make sure he sorts out your problems. If/when you decide to leave WH4L, make sure you get them to waive the $35 cancellation fee.

FWIW, I found out about WH4L because it was recommended by the DNN web site. I see it is no longer recommended, but is allowed to advertise. DNN should prevent them from advertising until they sort out their many technical issues.
