Hi,

I have DNN version 5.2.3 running and having trouble installing store 2.1.33.  It timed-out on the initial install so i re-ran the install to fix and the installation results were all successful.  When I add the store modules, there is no store admin module to select but all of the other store modules are there.  Any idea how to manually fix this?

I have completely un--installed the store modules & database objects several times now.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your input. I did uncheck the secure cookie and that eliminated the errors. I did verify that it works with PayPal. Thank you for fixing their issue. PayPal indicated the problem was their fault and that they were working on it but they did not have any idea when they would get it fixed on their end. Ironically when I unchecked the host setting to show beta version (new in 5.04.00 was not in 5.02.02) I am now able to use the rich text editor. I really like the new features in the store that have been added since the official version on the DNN site. The inventory is quite significant to my client. The search and sort are nice also. My client is happy with it now her site is www.mickeyrabeneck.com. I will be doing a companion site for her husband at www.frogcreekvideo.com now that this is working correctly. It is too bad that DNN cannot search the store. I work on my job with ASPDotNetStorefront with DNN with many storefronts and that was a major issue with those stores also. Again thank you for all your work on this module it really is great. Teri Hughes www.terijeanhughes.com

All,

I was able to get around the time-out issue with the store installation by using the automated install method.  The documentation was quite helpful and the module has some very good updates since version 2.01.00.  The PayPal issue has been a thorn in my side for the past 3 days but we now have gotton past the issue.

I did review 3-4 other e-commerc modules but found issues with all of them and found my way back to the DNN store module.  Is there anyway to beef up the admin control panel?  It woudl be nice to see product import/export or orders import/export features.  I know I would do this via SSIS and would help out to get additional features for this module.

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

If you do not have the Store Admin module, you should uninstall then verify with a database tools than all tables and stored procedure starting with Store_ has been removed. You can also verify if the folder ...\DesktopModules\Store is deleted.

Hi Teri,

You'r welcome. I have found a workaround to allow cookie encryption in Medium trust environment. This will be added in the next version.

By default, DotNetNuke can search the Store Catalog! If you use more than one Store Catalog module you must uncheck the setting "Enable Content Indexing". Only one Store Catalog module must enable content indexing or you will have search results twice or more. If products are not found when you search with DNN, verify if the search schedule is enabled and/or try to re-index content.

The Store search feature allow to search the catalog WITHOUT leave the catalog page. While when a search is done with DNN, the visitor is redirected to the "Search Results" page. The search algorythms are also different. Moreover, the Store search feature is optional and can be removed using the template files. Please download and read the Templating Guide available at Codeplex for details.
