I have just got a new dnn5 site and a few things are different to dnn4.

Anyways, my issue is this...I inserted an html module as normal.

when I looked at the page settings menu for the html module, there is a 'new' tag option... the help button says 'choose a tag'.

How do I get a tag in here? I tried typing one in but that didnt work. Is there another module that needs to be installed to make this work or is there another method for populating a list to choose from.

Help appreciated. Thanks.

tags are a new feature of DNN 5.3/5.4, called Taxonomy. If you want to use it, you should first make sure to run DNN 5.4.1

There is a new admin module called Taxonomy, where you may create vocabularies with tags.
