Sure, I can see that in this case it's really a DotNetMushroom problem, they should have used just plain Textboxes for the template editors, but in reality it's a more general idea. If I know enough HTML to go into source mode to edit the content, then I expect the editor to respect that decision and not mess around with what I have written. I would be satisfied with a way to tell the RTE to be in "plain text mode" for a particular instance or module without having it be a global setting. Would it be hard to change that setting from global to TabModuleID?

This would be managable if

< property name="CssFiles">[PortalRoot]/portal.css< /property>

worked.  But for me it just makes them all blank.   Anyone got any tricks for getting portal.css to show up?

Brandon,

I would advise against using portal.css.

  1. It’s too large and will impact the performance of the editor.  Best to keep the style menu to a select few body styles only.
  2. It applies to the whole page, not just the editor window.  This negates the ability to control the content space separate from the skin.  A vitally important function if you have a dark or image background.

Chris,

Have you checked with the latest version of DotNetMushroom RAD?  It has new ways for editing, as well as a color syntax-coding editor.

Thank you for the thread...

I was wondering, though: How would one set the <p> tag as the default tag for the Rad Editor?

Currently when one types, the editor doesn't inject any tag around the text (unless you have "NewLineBr" set to false and you actually happen to press enter), and you have to manually set the tag (or code block) to "Normal" which sets the <p>.

I'd imagine you would need to change this in the "Format Code Block"..?

Also - on a similar note - I'd also like to limit the tag / code block options available in this editor for semantic reasons (H1 for example, is only meant to be used once per page, so this is not needed in the editor). How / Where would I do this..? I'd like the options here to start with H2. I'd also like the Directory List, Menu List, Formatted and Address code blocks removed from these options.

I know how to add and remove CSS classes to the Apply CSS Class dropdown, so I'd imagine it's something similar. Just need help with the syntax.

Thank you in advance

Jon
