The ones that are not required can be simply set to be hidden or disabled through the control's properties.

All of the configuration controls are found in DesktopModules\Gallery\Settings.ascx. In some cases, the visibility of the controls and/or the table row in which they have been placed is toggled true or false in the codebehind file Settings.ascx.vb depening on the user's permissions or the settings of other controls. For example, the controls in the first section of settings are visible only to site admins. The row containing the selection control for the top level gallery owner is visible only if the "Is Private Gallery" checkbox has been checked.

Also, keep in mind that once you have hidden various controls, the setting associated with that control will either be the last value that was set or the default value if "Update" settings was never clicked for that module's settings controls. Default values are defined in the file Config.vb.
