 Hi there guys,

It's probably best if I first mention I'm not an expert when it comes to technology. I know a lot of scripting languages but am just starting out and trying to get my head around query languages and server side programming.

I currently have a hosting plan with fasthosts, and need a reliable web content management system that supports .net and MS SQL Server 2008 - it seems that 99.999999% only work well with a MySQL Database; but I have no intensions of swapping as I am happy with my arrangements at the moment and want to stick with the friendly and easy to use microsoft :)

I don't know if I'm missing the whole point of DNN, but the software seems to be the only reliable CMS that can work well with my structure - but it's asking for me to download IIS etc? How can I get DNN to perform on a shared server / outsourced web hosting? I thought it was simply upload load my web directories etc; but obviously I must be missing something (?)

Huge thanks in advance guys, all help is highly appreciated!

Thanks again,

Lynn.

Download the DNN Install version (make sure your host meets the requirements for the version you choose).  Unzip the download on your system.  FTP the entire folder structure to the root of your host site.  Browse to your web site to initiate the install.  With hosted SQL Server you will likely need to configure the SQL database manually, through your host's control panel or with their help.  You may also need to set permissions manually.

Jeff
