Hi All,

I'm a novice with DNN...

and I think I made a fatal mistake. let me explain.
I downloaded the Design Challenge winning skins and installed the "collaborate", skin.

Unfortunately I did not use the "preview" option... and now all I can see is a dark screen...

I think some content of the skin package was corrupted.
Is there a way to restore or reset the site to its very initial state using some "low level" access or something?

If you are logged into the site do you see anything on the page?

If you want to change the skin back you could try doing the following.

 

1. go to the /portals/_default/skins folder and simply delete the new skinname folder

2. if the above folder doesn't have the skin try /portals/#/skins where # is the ID of your portal, likely 0

3. You can try to find the skin references in the database and remove them, though I would suggest trying the first options above.

thank you Chris,
I tried, but I cannot have acces to the DNN installation files.
DNN is provided by my hosting service (aruba.it)
I think I will try with their tech assistance.

I just tried to install the package on DNN 5.4.1 and it works fine, what version of DNN are you using?
