hi , i mistakenly checked "Hide Login Controls", now that my AD is not working, i have no way to login to my host account.. is there a place in the db that could change the value?

Before you make changes to the DB have you tried adding '?ctl=login' to the end of your URL to see if you can get the login controls?
Example:  http://domain.com/home.aspx?ctl=login

If you are using a domain account as a host account you can use http://domain.com/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx  to login with your windows credentials.
