The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), through its GAINS Program, today announced its request for proposal for an HTML5 based data collection tool.
While focusing on the occasionally connected environment (rather than web server like DNN), WCS is looking for an architectural approach similar to DNN that can work for the occasionally connected and will be looking longer term to potential link the occasionally connected platform to its DNN platforms.
The RFP can be found here: http://www.gains.org/DataTools/GAINSDocs/tabid/114/language/en-US/Default.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=23261
This RFP outlines a data collection approach consisting of 3 phases:
· Phase 1 - A tool that can be used to generate HTML5-based standalone data collection forms based on a spreadsheet type look and feel.
· Phase 2 – A design for architecture providing enhanced form functionality
· Phase 3 - A proposal to integrate the tool with standard framework supporting HTML5, such as SproutCore and Adobe Air 2
Following the review of responses to the RFP, WCS plans to award a contract for three key deliverables:
- A functioning prototype for phase 1
- A architectural design for phase 2
- A short proposal on how to integrate the phase 1 prototype and phase 2 design, with a standard HTML5 framework.
Contact details and further information can be found in the above RFP.
