For a current project I had a need to do some custom token replacements that were too complex to use the existing tokens to accomplish.  I decided to make a custom version of HtmlModule.ascx, substitute that in the HTML Pro extension and it all worked like a champ.  It did exactly what I wanted it to.

Then my boss said he wanted the existing HTML Pro to remain as-is and for me to make a new extension with my custom HtmlModule included so I set one up exactly like the existing HTML Pro and substituted my custom HtmlEditor.  Everything is exactly the same with exception of the extension name/friendly name and the definition since those have to be unique.

Now when I try to save (which I know doesn't happen in HtmlModule.ascx I get the following error.

/// *********************************************************************************************************************///
Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlTextController.CreateUserNotifications(HtmlTextInfo objHtmlText) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlTextController.UpdateHtmlText(HtmlTextInfo objHtmlText, Int32 MaximumVersionHistory) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.EditHtml.cmdSave_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
/// *********************************************************************************************************************///

Any words of wisdom?  My first thoughts is this has something to do with the setup of the new extension, like perhaps a name that it somehow relies on to work its magic.  I versioned the new extension 5.2.1 exactly like the existing HTML Pro extension.

Thanks in advance...

Brian Strickland
