What is your current DotNetNuke framework version? The easiest way would be to upgrade to version 5.4.1 which includes detection of and support for ASP.Net 4.0.

I currently have the latest release of DNN 5.4.1  on ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 and i know that it should work on ASP.NET 4 but it does not... I currently work with DiscounASP.NET and they have full ASP.NET 4 support but when i changer my ASP version from my hosting control panel the site goes ¨dead¨. I was reading that the latest 5.4 release of DNN detects the ASP.NET version installed and it changes itself to the new framework, but my dnn app does not.
I´m not sure but i believe that my dnn web app does not wok well since december last year when it was released with that GRANT EXECUTION problem and since then we all had that Purge.Module.Cache error ho is making the sites work slow, realy slow!
Believe it or not, 5 of the 7 dnn sites that i manage for me and some friends are still using the 5.2.3 version of dnn since is the only one stable enough to hold all the modules togheter.
Yesterday i´ve made a clean manual install of the dnn 5.4.1 on asp.net 4 and it was a success, but still that Purge.Module.Cache issue is there... Tried everything but it looks like has something to do with the permision to access the "Cache/Module" folder and i´ve asked everyone for help but it looks like is from the dnn core since i have all necesary permissions from discountasp.net
Well, the truth is that everyone is happy when they see litle green letters that say success!  when they upgrade or install the DNN, but the truth is that inside the DNN core is filled with errors and if you take a closer look...

Did you upgrade to the "integrated pipeline" mode of .NET 4.0?

I just did an upgrade to 4.0 (integrated pipeline mode) from 2.0 and it's working fine for me.

I've just found out the integrated pipeline mode gave some problems. I ended up switching to the classic mode to get everything working as before.
