I've created a copy of my 4.x version of DNN.  Then I upgraded it (it worked great), to the latest version (5.4.1).  I had to manually install the latest ADSI (5.0.2).

I'm using mixed-mode authentication.  Internally you are automatically logged in.  Externally you are directed to the login screen.  It still works great for internal and external users, except the default domain (DD) isn't working.  Originally (4.x) I had gone into the code and manually concatenated our one and only domain to the user id before it started processing the login.  This prevented the user from having to type in their domain.  And I assume that this is what the DD is supposed to do.  But it doesn't work.  When I put in the DD, it stores it in the database, but it isn't retrieved when I access the settings page.  So if a user tries to login, they are denied.  If they try with the domain\userid it works.  I assume that if the domain is provided, it overrides the DD.

I suspect that for whatever reason it's not being retrieved from the DB on the settings page is the same reason it's not being retrieved during the login process.  This is just an assumption.

Since we don't have VS 2008, I cannot make changes to the code or troubleshoot any.  Help, please!
