Hi.  I just installed DNN3.2 on our intranet and it works fine on the local server, but when I access it remotely I have a problem with the menus.  I can see the main menu bar but it's the menu items pop-up that has the problem.

For example, I log in as host and then go to the Admin menu.  The Admin menu will flash briefly (and completely) for a second, then an error will show.  You can't really see the error since it is the typical 'page cannot be displayed' error that is full size.  I can right click and view source and verify the message.  The top of the page source does say 'dnserror'.

I am not sure what to do with this one.  I went back to the web server and was much more generous on security, but that didn't help.

The only other issue I am struggling with is getting the newsfeeds to work since we are behind a proxy server.  I haven't resolved that issue but I don't believe it's related.

Any ideas?

Jeff

I have good and bad news.

The good is I solved the problem by resetting IE's settings to default in the Advanced tab under Internet Options.  After reviewing other user experiences, it appeared that I was the only one seeing the issue.  However, I would only see it within a Citrix session and not when I would Remote Desktop to a machine through Citrix. In my post above, my local mahine was fine since I have to RDC to it.  The remote stations were in my initial citrix session and I tried a few different citrix servers with the same result.  Then I RDC'd to a citrix server that originally shown the error and through RDC, it was fine.

The bad news is that I really have no idea why this occured. I figure it must have something to do with Citrix and how it related to the IE setttings.  Citrix tries to track IE and other profile settings across the network and sometimes it can cause issues.

One strange behavior that I could reproduce within Citrix is that I would take off the 'display friendly warnings' in IE and then the menu would essentially lock up IE.  There was some loop going on I can see in the status bar of IE which was loading the menu graphics time and time again.

Sorry to bring the subject up.  Seems to be an obscure happening.

Jeff

I got the same kind of problem...

I'm using SOLPART menu ( Version 1.6.1.0 www.solpart.com ) in an ASP.NET application:

- When I access the application thought the network (using IE 6.0), it work's.
- When I access the application thought the CITRIX (using IE 6.0), it doesn't work: I got a white box instead of the menu!!

It seams to be link to the Citrix resolution. Over 256 colors, it doesn't work.

Did you solved this problem ? Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance...

What version of Citrix are you using?

What ICA client are you using?
