I would like my home page to have one skin, and all my subpage to have another.  I'd like a three column design on the home page and a two column one on the others.  Do I have to create a Portal for my subpages?  It seems like the only way to do this to me.

Thanks

Yes you can - you can simply select the skin you want by going to Settings - on the top of the page and scrolling down to select a skin for that particular page.

So skinning is customisable - at Host/Admin/Page level.

In reference to your desire to have two columns on the skin instead of one, did you know that when you actually put the content into the pane, if the right hand pane isn't used, it collapses and is hidden when you log out or preview skin, so you don't actually have to change the skin, it is hidden when not in use.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, that is a big help.  When I leave pane empty, it still leaves about a ten pixel gutter where the content should be... I think it actually puts a nbsp; in there.  I also want no logo at the top of my subpages, so I really do need a different template for the secondary pages... right?

OK yes well in that case you do need another skin and remove the logo skinobject.  And the gutter it leaves is caused by a couple of reasons.. The padding on the table is set to 3px - you can remove that.. and the css - in the content pane  class - .contentpane {} - the padding is about 6px left and right..   and the class in the right pane is .rightpane {} and it's also got 6px padding left and right - so you will need moddify this if you want a hard edge.
