Something in my skin is causing the rad editor to have a black background and not let me edit the text.. sometimes i can flop back and forth from editor view and get it to show.. but it is not consistant.  What css properties effect the radeditor vs the fkceditor?

So setting
body {background-color: transparent;}

It will work 100% in firefox but you have to toggle between Design and HTML to get it to show data in IE8.   Sadly.. i want my background to be black but my editor to be white background.  any css to control that?

Brandon,

DNN assigns an ID of Body to the body element so you can use the following to get a black background for your skin and not the RAD editor:

body{
background-color:#fff;
}

#Body{
background-color:#000;
}

Regards,

Rick.

ok i also found rad editor hates this..

body  {position: relative;}

This makes the editor flash visible for a split second then shoot off the screen

Same problem with the background issue here. the suggested fix above did not work. There must be a way to distinguish the editor content area css from that of the site. The RadEditor used to have a separate css file for that but I can't find it anywhere in the installation.

Need some help on this.

Jack,

Try using the Firebug plugin for Firefox to select the element and see what CSS is being used on it. http://getfirebug.com/
