Okay we currently have a company website on the web now.  We also have a DNN website that is addressed as http://aceks.acekshosting.com.  I need that DNN website to be "live" and have the address of the old website (www.aceks.com) to take you to the DNN one we've built.  I took this over from someone who had an idea how to do this.  I'm completely lost and we are needing to get this website live ASAP.  If someone could explain to me how this works in lay-mans terms I can understand?  Can I do this on an administrator level or do I need to have "host" access?  I've been surfing this website everywhere trying to find an answer and I at my wits end.  Help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks

Hi kkress

Two easy ways to do this. Neither are DNN settings.

1> Ask your the hoster for the old site to redirect or forward any calls to the old site URL to that of the new.
In this case people will not even see the old site. They just get redirected.

 2> Use the Refresh Tag.
Open the old index.htm of default.html in an editor - a simple text editor will do.
At the top of this page look for the Meta strings - these are inside the area
Insert the new meta tag of:
 http://aceks.acekshosting.com">

The content value is the time in seconds that needs to elapse before the refresh operates and takes your visitors to your new site.
This is a useful method if you want to tell people why they are being redirected.

 Hope this helps

If you host the site internally you can update your firewall to direct users accordingly. If it's hosted elsewhere contact the hosting provider and have them forward the links as mentioned above.
