Hello all... am a complete newb, about 6 hrs of pure frustaration. Have a Windows Server 2000 SP4, .NET Framework Ver2, SQL Server 2005 Express, SQL Server Management Studio Express, and DNN 4_0_3 Install package. The machine all this is installed on is the domain controller of my local domain. Am not using VWD or DNN Starter Kit.

I have downloaded and unzipped the DNN Install package to my F:\dotnetnuke folder. I set up a db called DotNetNuke, created a dnn user for the DotNetNuke database, and set up a login.

After reading the Installation guide and the guide written by Eric Henson, they both make reference to the ASPNET user that needs to be given permission to the dotnetnuke folder. The ASPNET user does not show up on my system. Any suggestions?

After doing a little more digging around since making my original post, I've come to find out that the crux of my difficulties is due to running all this on a domain controller. The ASPNET user is a local machine account, and on a domain controller all accounts are domain accounts. The ASPNET user just doesn't exist on a domain controller.

The following article helps shed light on a potential workaround, but I haven't yet had time to test it yet. The durn real world keeps interrupting my playtime.
