Hello!

I have recently moved a DNN 5.4.2 site to a godaddy.com server.  This site worked fine when working locally out of visual studio 2008 (even when pointing to a godaddy.com SQL server database).

When I FTPd the website files to the godaddy server and tried to view, however, I get the following error using firefox:
'Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.'

In IE, it just says "Waiting for site".

I have added the alias (i.e. sitename.com.previewdns.com) to the PortalAlias table (this is now the only alias in the table).

Perhaps I am missing something in my DNN configuration!  godaddy.com says my site is set up correctly to work.

Thanks!

John

did you add the new domain address as portal alias in Host :: Portals for your site?

Yes, sitename.com.previewdns.com is the only alias listed under host -> Portals.

You might try adding a simple test.aspx page to the site to see if it can be reached without invoking DNN.  That way you can verify that the DNS addressing itself is actually working.  When that is verified, the rest should be easy.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, the test page works, but when we reenable the DNN site, it can not be reached.

Do we have any other suggestions?  Thanks for your help.
