Hi guys,

Hoping you can help me. I have a site running on 4.9.5 of DNN, and Store 01.00.01.

Yes I know, vey old modules/versions - but sadly Im stuck with them. This site is also using the WWStore module from a long time ago, and it wont compile in 5.x

Anyway... Is there a way of sorting the category list? Did alot of searching, but couldnt find a solid answer.

Cheers!

Hi Ky,

Just a silly question, why you don't upgrade this so old version?
The WWStore module was a fork created by Allan thomson from Emerald Solution, then maintened by me and stopped at version 02.01.01 two years ago. This module has been reintroduced as the official Store module 02.01.00.
Both versions do NOT compile under DNN opening the website and do a F5 (Build), simply because they use WAP (Web Application Project) programming model! You have to use the solution file provided in both versions to build the module. In addition WAP require VS 2005 Pro with SP1 or VS 2008 all versions including Express with SP1! They are two programming models under ASP.NET WSP (Web Site Project) and WAP, both can be used to create modules for DNN. In the DNN Starter Kit, WSP in called Dynamic Module while WAP is called Compiled module.
I do not remember in which Store version I have added the sort order for the categories but current version can be sorted using the sort order field in the category form.

Hi Gilles!

Thanks again for your replies - theyre very helpful - Id be lost otherwise :)

This is the same client who, some years ago, we build the DNN site (back in V3 days I beleive) and at the time, the ability to have a nice detailed business directory was lacking, so I hacked up the original Store module to resemble more of a business directory, with categories etc, all searchable using the DNN search.

http://www.racecourseroad.com.au/CompleteBusinessDirectory/tabid/56/Default.aspx

The client is quite computer illiterate, and it was a long time and alot of patience getting him comfortable with that system. It was about as easy as i could make it really without editing source code (Im not a programmer, but I can hack things up a bit to do what I want).

Anyway, he recently asked me to setup a 2nd, separate business directory the same as the other. Obviously, it was never designed that way, but I figured if I used the WWStore module - its essentially the same as the old Store module - same templates etc, so I could get them looking/working the same with not much effort.

Ive found I cant upgrade a site to 5.x while using the WWStore module as its codebehind causes compile issues (I posted about that a week or so ago).

So, Im kinda stuck with this setup. it works for the client, and he's happy with it as it is.

A few months ago, I tried to move him over to a Xmod style business directory - but it was simply too complex for him, and he lost interest and got very frustrated.

So, all I need to do now, is be able to sort the listing as they are - and he is happy from now on :)

Any advice/help is greatly appreciated. Ill FTP you some Aussie beer ;)

Hi,

Do you use WWStore on the tabid 56? If yes, the WWStore module was not able to sort! If you have a full access to the db, I could install WWStore and tell you which stored procedure you have to modify to sort the product list.
