DNN 5.x (whatever latest ver. is): DB SQL Svr 2008 WEB Edition

I have been tasked with migrating a DNN evironment from DEV -> TEST -> PROD.

I have noticed so far, that backup/restore-ing a db from one environment to the other loses all the encrypted passwords and each and every one has to be first "Reset" before it can then be changed. Fortunately, so far, this has only been DEV->Test. But, this raises the question;

What happens when I have to restore the Prod DB for real and there are several thousand users on the system. That cannot happen for every user?

How do you move a db from one environ to the next and NOT lose the encrypted passwds in DNN?

Alternatively, how does DNN store it's encrypted passwds so I can generate some form of script which will collect all passwrds (if need be in encrypted format) and pump them back in to the db after moving/restoring?
