I currently use Ventrian News Article as my blogging platform on PokerDIY. Any player can start their own blog (this is the most important - it is not for publishing news or my own blog - it is essential that end users have a good experience and can set up their own poker blog on PokerDIY) and experience all the features something like Wordpress or blogger.

Most important features are SEO, looks (themeability/ability to customize), web 2.0-style functions (digging, retweet etc.), ability to integrate (e.g with my own profiles or ActiveSocial messaging, journal) and ease of use. I am happy to pay for the module if it is good, supported and will be actively developed (around $100)

I want to know people's opinions on the following modules (especially if you have used more than one):

Ventrian News Articles
SunBlogNuke
DigArticles
NukePress
UltraNews Article
Core Blog Module (I used this before migrating to Ventrian NA)

Opinions appreciated!

* BUMP AGAIN *

Also interested! I've used a few, and there are some things I've seen missing in them all that I would really like to have. Especially if any allow podcasting or the like.

Care to be the first and describe your experiences Ryan. You mentioned you've used a few and I'm curious what you found in the others and why you left one to go to the other. Also, how was the migration from one to the other? Did you have to write your own scripts to copy content or was there built in tools for this?

I think the best blog/publishing module greatly depends on your needs.  First question is do you need a simple blog module or a full fledged publishing module?

I have always used Ventrian's News Articles since the support is great, price is very right, and the module is actively updated.  I have looked hard at DigArticle - I like the article and comment voting (thumbs up/down).

NukePress and UltraNews don't impress me that much. SunBlogNuke looks interesting.

I just downloaded the trial of Cross Article - I think the built in Anarchy media player could be very cool.  I also like how this module breaks many things down into separate modules so you can set it up as you please.
