Hello,

I want to make my sites registration process verified the problem that i have is after i hit register a message informs me that the verification email did not reach the destination and that there is a problem with my smtp configuration.
The problem is that in the host -- settings i have configured my smtp server and i tested that it works. by running the DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail method.

So i cant understand why i get this message at the registration

My dnn version is 05.01.01 (98)

Any thoughts
Thanks
dom

make sure, the SMTP server is configured to allow mails sent from site admin to the new recipient (usually you need to enable relay mode). Besides make sure, the site admin (specified in Site Settings) has a valid email address in his user account.

What do you mean?  Currently, I'm trying to use GoogleApps for my mail but all mail is sent from the host account and not the portal admin.  In addition, if I have any other accounts set up to send mail those are now from the "host" account.

This worked when I was using my provider's email servers but is broken with Google Apps.

Can anything be done to fix this?

Thanks.

site notifications are always sent from the portal admin account. I am not sure, whether google mail can be used to send from your site, they should have spam protection enabled.

I have the following: mail settings are setup using host@domain.com portal admin email is admin@domain.com some of the forums have their own email addresses such as forum1@domain.com. When my mail is handled through my host provider site registration emails show they are FROM admin@domian.com. When I change to google apps, site registration emails show they are FROM host@domain.com instead. Matter of fact, any email sent out is FROM host@domain.com instead of admin@domain.com or forum1@domain.com, etc. Can someone explain this? Thanks
