After upgrading to 5.4.2 all my sites in the dnn5 portal went to the default site homepage if i used the default url ie http://mysite.dnn5install.com or http://mysite.com would show the default page of the portal http://dnn5.dnn5install.com.
But it would have the menu for the correct site.
If I click the home button on the menu it showed the correct home page for the site.

I noticed that the page displayed for the inital page was http://............../default.aspx after clicking the link url for the correct page was http://........../home.aspx

I have reverted to 5.2.2 and everything seems OK again

Is this my error or the package

what version did you upgrade from? If it was a 4.x version you're likely seeing a redirect caused by you not having an install of MS Ajax or else running under .net 3.5 SP1 (which are both prerequisites for 5.4.2)

According to the original post, the user was upgrading from 5.2.2, which already requires .Net 3.5 SP1. There seems to be an issue with URL rewriting. Are you using any 3rd party URL rewriter modules or multilanguage support?

Hello Sebastian
I made a mistake it was actually version 05.03.01 (7) that I was upgrading from and I do have .net 3.5
It is a windows 2003 web edition server running SQL 2008
There are 5 portals all very small
It is a plain vanilla site with no 3rd party components
I did however install en-AU as default language as i am in Australia and wanted to use the events module
Is that a problem ?

Your first step is to upgrade to .NET 4 (or min requirement .NET 3.5 SP1).
