I am at my wits end.  I followed the provided documentation (AD Providers User Guide) 3 times over the past 4 weeks and still no dice.  Users get prompted by a Windows Login popup the first time they try to navigate to my DNN intranet.  It doesn't matter what they enter, they get sent to the site, but not logged in.  Subsequent visits do not prompt them for creds (No Windows Login popup) but they do go to the site - they just don't get logged in.  The exception is when the user logs on to the actual web server - then they get logged in automatically just fine.

Does anyone know of any logging tht might indicate a failed login attempt?  Or is DNN not even attempting to auto-login?  I know it might not be neccessary, but I did add my client's entire range of IPs to the auto login option in the AD provider settings, too.

Thanks.

An update.....
I looked at the Admin/Log Viewer and there are no "Login Failure" errors.  No attempt is being made to auto log on using the users current credentials.  Any advice or direction would be much appreciated.  We are going live in 2 weeks and I've spent too much time on this problem already.

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

i would assume this is a server permission error. make sure that in IIS its permissions for the site arent set to allow annonymous, and that permisson levels on the inetpub wwwroot folder are set right for users to be able to browse teh files.

Sorry I keep posint to my own thread, but I need to get something done and I don't want to created redundant posts.

Has anyone used a 3rd party module available via SnowCovered called Active Directory Auto Login?  It's $290 but compared to the number of days I've been beating my brains out trying to get the DNN AD Authentication feature to auto-login ir might be worth it.

Thanks, again.

Is the site in the Trusted Sites or Local Intranet list under the Control Panel->Internet options on the computer? That's usually the cause of the IIS popup. Them not getting it on subsequent visits will occur until the authentication cookie expires (about an hour).
